There are a few things you should be aware of when preparing comic art to send my way. Your page size needs to be set up correctly. Check your spelling and grammar. Clean up your pencil lines. The final, reproduced page size is 7" x 8.5" (177.8 x 215.9mm), or exactly one half of a folded sheet of US LEGAL size sheet of paper. I suggest that you create your work a little larger, and then provide for it to shrink down a bit in order to tighten up your details. Ideally you'll test out your reduction in order to minimize my needing to go in and clean up your artwork. In preparing a sheet of paper upon which to draw, I'd suggest using a 10.5" x 12.75" sheet of paper, and leave approximately a 0.5" white margin around the outside. At this time, i can only accept electronic submissions (grayscale, flattened, .psd, .jpg, .png, or .tif of 300ppi at 7" x 8.5"), though the manner in which you create your art is entirely up to you. If your story is going to be more than one page, I'd appreciate your limiting it to two pages or so. RØTØ's early issues have been enthusiastically received and fall submissions may exceed the paper real estate which i have available.
Deadline: Completed pages are due to me on SATURDAY, 19 JANUARY 2008!!! If you are intending to submit work and you get published, I will mail you a copy of the finished book, if in fact you are willing to provide me a mailing address. Some folks aren't, and i understand and respect this choice. |
